In a recent development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken further action against Shahjahan Sheikh, who is under investigation for various allegations. The agency, which was already probing Sheikh in connection with a ration scam, has now registered a fresh case against him for alleged land grabbing. Furthermore, Searches were conducted at a total of 6 places including Howrah, Kolkata, North 24 Pargana.
Shahjahan Sheikh, who is reportedly absconding since January 5th, faces mounting accusations including sexual harassment of women and involvement in land grabbing in Sandeshkhali. ED, intensifying its efforts, conducted the raids in Howrah and South Kolkata today, including the residences of two businessmen suspected to be linked with Sheikh. The High Court, weighing in on the matter, urged the Mamata government to take appropriate action, emphasizing the seriousness of the accusations against Sheikh. BJP has also been vocal, expressing strong concerns over the alleged incidents and demanding accountability.
